Getting started with Leadtosale

Get up and running with Leadtosale to track calls, forms and more!

Signing up

If you haven’t already, click the below button to sign up for an account. You can get started with Leadtosale for free and without needing a credit card to sign up.

Get started for free

As a free user, you get access to all our non-call tracking tools.

You also get access to one local number for free for 14 days to track calls with. Note that there are some minute limits associated with this number, but we’ll inform you if you’re reaching this limit.

To continue using your local number, buy toll-free and mobile numbers or to create new plans, you’ll need to upgrade your plan.

Our team will reach out to you during your first 14 days to discuss the right plan for you.

The sign up process consists of two steps:

1) Creating your email address and password. Note that an email address will need to be in a valid format to sign up. If your email is valid, but you’re having trouble, send us a message with the chat bubble and we can help you out.

2) Giving us the details required to create your first business. We’ll set up as much as we can for you.

In this step, we require:

Your first and last name: this is so we know how to address you if we need to chat with you in support, send a message regarding your account etc.

Your website: don’t worry if you don’t have your domain yet - you can always update this later. We’ll use this to name your business, container and trackers but again, don’t worry about it too much. We can update these later. We require a valid domain, like https://leadto.sale.

Your country: this will determine your default country for call trackers. Make this the country you’re looking to buy numbers in.

Your phone number: this will determine the default destination number for your call trackers. If you’re making this on behalf of a client, use your phone number and update the destination number when you create a tracker. If the phone number you use is not valid, you won’t be able to finish signing up.

Installing your snippet

Once this is done, you’ll be taken to your tracker page. Here, some trackers will be set up for you already.

In order to use your trackers, you’ll need to install your container snippet, which can be found at the bottom of the trackers page.

Install this code using the provided instructions. Find the full help article for installing your container snippet here.

Setting up a call tracker

By default, your forms will be tracked automatically once you install the container snippet. To track calls, you’ll need to set up a call tracker.

You can find more detailed information on setting up a call tracker here.

The bare minimum that’s required for step 1 is:

  1. A name: for example, Google Ads call tracking
  2. Your destination number: where you’re looking to direct calls to
  3. Your swap for conditions: when you want to display your call tracking number. Low traffic sites can use All Sessions. Higher traffic sites will need to use one or more numbers per channel.

The bare minimum that’s required for step 2 is:

  1. Your call tracking number. Note on the free plan you’re limited to one local number.
  2. Your ‘to find’ conditions (in step 2). This will determine what number pattern our JavaScript is looking for in the page to replace with the call tracking number.

These will automatically be populated with the phone number you signed up with.

If you have any brackets in your phone number formatting on your site, you’ll need to escape these with a backslash e.g. (021) 1101 828 will need to have the pattern \(021\)1101828 added. Same with dash characters e.g. 021-1101-828 will need 021\-1101\-828.

For more information on configuring call trackers, head to the call trackers article.

Once you’ve done this, hit done and save your tracker.

If your container snippet is installed, test that your number is replacing with the call tracking number on your site.

Tracking conversions

You’ll need to add your Google Analytics property ID to your container to start tracking goal completions and conversions.

Once this is added and saved, you’ll start receive events for these in your Google Analytics property.

For more information about your Google Analytics integration, head to the article here.

To start tracking these as goal completions in Google Analytics and conversions in Google Ads, you’ll need to reference the events in the article above and configure your goals in Google Analytics, then import those goals into Google Ads.

To start sending revenue data for closed leads, process leads in the UI as they close. You can automate this process using our Zapier integration.
